Congress: All "Locked Up" by The House

According to Alvin Toffler, in his book "Future Shock" (p. 3), "Change is the process by which the future invades our lives"...and "consequences of contemporary events radiate instantaneously around the world".

If the future "invades" the lives of the American people through "change" created by the dysfunctional, myopic, Republican majority in the United States House of Representatives, it will be an UGLY FUTURE. In that future, the Republicans pick up their marbles (tax cuts for the wealthy 2 percent), put them in a box (to deny funding to upgrade and improve the nation's power grid and transportation systems), and go home! Many, if not most, of their members believe Climate Change is a hoax, and major Immigration Reform does not require some form of amnesty for 11 million people already in the Country. What is clear is that the Republican members of the House of Representatives are so ideologically opposed to what they view as liberal legislation, they are willing to put the future of the Country at risk!

A "Lock" on The Door

To this end, they have locked all the doors to the House and halted the production of
legislation. The White House and the Democrats have tried to open talks through the FRONT DOOR of the House of Representatives, but no change to date. The doors remain locked. The Republicans have circled the wagons, and declared that they WILL NOT BE MOVED AS LONG AS THIS PRESIDENT IS IN OFFICE, and any legislation without majority Republican support such as Immigration Reform will not be moved! The side door with the “White Flag” of “compromise” is no longer a road to resolution. The consequences of not passing NEEDED legislation can only be imagined at this juncture, but in all likelihood it will radiate around the world!

After all, if you don't believe the Government can do anything right, why not shut it down. They have done it before, and if they can win control of the Senate in the 2014 elections and keep the House, the "private sector" may indeed be the next U. S. form of Government (Corporations already have "religion").

So what is changing? It could be the Republicans have a new way to "privatize" the Government: ''Sue The President" when they disagree with him (or her), especially on legislation they dislike such as Immigration Reform, and win the battle in Court -- not by the vote!

Climate Change

One of Wiley's close relatives who worked for a NASA contractor on the Earth Observing System (EOS) believes that the Republican opposition to Climate Change is based primarily on their rigid ideological opposition to big Government! Their dislike and fear of Big Government has no bounds, especially if the "bounds" require Government spending! Wiley's relative, a Systems Engineer, suggests that without serious spending at this early stage on Climate Change may only lead to greater spending later. The GOP seems to ignore the scientists working in aUnited States Global Change Research Program and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and they ignore the suite of instruments on EOS spacecraft capable of acquiring simultaneous

complimentary observations of cloud properties as well as provide error free surface images. The hope is that the data being collected will provide more definitive answers very soon.

Regardless of whether the above statement means anything to you and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council p, it does address the essence of the possible danger many nations in the Middle East and the world fear about Iran having a nuclear weapon. The U. S. has worked with its allies to strike a nuclear deal between Iran lus Germany which will freeze Iran's nuclear program and greatly reduce the stockpile of enriched uranium.develop an agreement with the nation of it of Iran.

Republicans are united in their opposition to the deal.

"...the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat - "(2Pet.3:10,12). This is a perfect definition of nuclear bombs. The elements (uranium-plutonium etc.) will melt with a fervent heat of millions of degrees and both the atmosphere and the earth will be burned up."

At a time when the rise of radical Islamism is threatening the Middle East, improving relations with an important regional power like Iran, if such a thing is possible, is clearly in the strategic interests of the United States.

So, when the pollsters questioned people Accordingdifferently, asking whether there is solid evidence the Earth is getting warmer, 72 percent of people said it was, up from 57 percent in 2009. Only 25 percent said the Earth is not getting warmer, up from 11 percent in 2009.

Climate Change. Perhaps you know that the research has been going on for years. Some Republicans call it a “hoax” and a host of reporters happily repeat it. If those reporters would watch the NASA Channel occasionally, they might learn about the Earth Observing System (EOS). A long term, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research mission kicked off in 19---- to advance the understanding of the earth as a system and how it is changing. Atmospheric and Earth surface data is gathered by instruments mounted on polar-orbiting spacecraft.

The mission objectives include the utilization of a global data base to support definitive and conclusive studies of global change!

You can also throw the Press into this mess. They have not tried to educate the public on ExecutiveAgreements, or explained what would likely happen if an agreement is reached and the U. S. fails to uphold it. Such an outcome would almost certainly dissuade many, if not most nations from trying to work with the U. S. Government. That could be bad for a future GOP president. Do they care? What if no agreement is reached? (e.g., There doesn't appear to be any easy

answers!

One thing is for sure. The Press will continue its unending quest to obtain Hillary Clinton's e-mails -- that's suspect, not respect!

Can Congress Sing the Blues?

The U. S. Congress is in dire need of a time out to seriously work on passing needed legislation that gives the people reason to hope rather than reason to sing the blues (feel depressed). Yes, the blues is a mostly black thing, but you can find traces of its foot print in Rock and Roll, Hip Hop, and songs in the Top Forty. This Country and this Congress needs to find sufficient traces of good will to produce necessary legislation. Time is running out! They must act before the parade passes by and leaves the Country in the legislation ditch! The lyrics in the music the House hears says, “Cut Taxes” and “Kill Obama Care”: the lyrics the Senate hears say, “Raise Revenue” (taxes) and “The Minimum Wage”. The Country says, “Until Congress works things out, many of us will be singing the blues”!

From Wiley's point of view, the ACA problems reflect the political "divide” in the United States that:

· Drives the economic divide (income inequality) which in turn drives the racial and class "divides".

· Attempts to kill the ACA and similar programs vital to the middle class and those trying to enter the middle class (e.g., under the ACA medical care costs want bankrupt a family).

Leads to rigid new voter ID laws designed to make it difficult for minorities and other pro-democrat voters to vote in most of the states run by Republican Governors. It is worse than Jim Crow and the poll tax.

Many in the T-Party people don't see President Obama as someone capable of handling the responsibilities of the Presidency of the United States. They quite easily ignore the fact that he has WON 2 presidential elections. The level of disrespect for the Office with Obama in it is….astounding!
